Carolyn Spence is chief information officer for Alexander Youth Network, an organization in North Carolina providing an array of mental and behavioral health services for children and young adults. Spence has been with the organization for more than 20 years, overseeing its clinical case management, administration, billing, utilization management, data analysis and electronics health records development and implementation.

Spence attributes her success to her ability to partner with clinical and information technology staff, create interdisciplinary teamwork and develop relationships with technology vendors. Her dedication to children's mental health and knack for innovation have produced organizational efficiencies, effective care systems and streamlined processes throughout the organization.

She completed her honours bachelor of social work at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada.
