Richard Pro Richard ProChief Data and Analytics Officer, Cone Health Representative of Technical Expertise in Data Analytics Richard Pro became Cone Health’s first chief data and analytics officer in 2016. In this role, he is responsible for the enterprise-wide analytics data platform and the application of data science methods to uncover hidden patterns in Cone Health’s vast data repository. He also leads the development of predictive and business simulation models and the provision of analytics-driven consultative services to business and clinical leaders across Cone Health. Pro has more than 32 years of experience in analytics, operations, information technology and strategic management consulting in health care at both care delivery and insurance organizations. Previously, he served as executive director of Health Economics at the UPMC Health System in Pennsylvania and co-founded the analytics division at Highmark Health, where he worked for 18 years. He also served as a consultant to payers and health systems across the United States for eight years. Pro earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University with a specialization in strategy. He is a doctoral candidate in business administration/health care management at Liberty University. Pro also holds a master’s degree in materials science from the University of California-Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree in physics from the University of Pittsburgh. Pro is a fellow in the Academy for Health Care Management and a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He co-chairs the American Heart Association Go Red for Women campaign and has served on the board of directors of Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
