Happy New Year! The North Carolina HEIA thanks NC HealthConnex participants and stakeholders for support in the first year of operation.

The NC HIEA's vision is to build a robust health information exchange, NC HealthConnex, to link all health care providers across North Carolina.

Since early this year, the NC Health Information Exchange Authority has been overseeing North Carolina’s state-operated health information exchange.

The North Carolina Health Information Exchange Authority is progressing as it seeks stakeholder input and shares its role in Medicaid reform.

Since January, the North Carolina Health Information Exchange has been in transition. The state has taken ownership of HIE and fully funded it.

Planning is underway to shift the Community Care of NC/NC Community Cares Networks to the new statewide North Carolina Health Information Exchange.

On Friday, Sept. 18, 2015, Gov. Pat McCrory signed the state budget, which creating a new statewide health information exchange under state control.
